Since settling here, we have extensively explored the island, formed connections with local producers, and discovered hidden gems. Chef Alessandro has rediscovered his childhood flavors, sourcing fresh produce from local markets and experimenting with recipes. We are now confident in sharing the island's finest offerings with you! For 2025 we have decided to create the ultimate Sicilian experience with the introduction of the Viaggia Grand Tour of Sicily 

But why call it ‘The Grand Tour?”

The Grand Tour was an educational trip through Europe in the 17th-18th century, with Italy as a key destination, for young European aristocratic men. It exposed them to classical antiquity and the Renaissance, serving as an educational right of passage. German writer and poet J.W. Goethe spent 2 years travelling Italy from 1786 to 1788; upon his return he famously wrote in a poem “We are all pilgrims who seek Italy.” In the 19th century, the rise of industrialization in the United States led to the adoption of the Grand Tour by American nouveau riche of both sexes, marking the beginning of modern day tourism, as described in Mark Twain's Innocents Abroad in 1869.

In the spirit of the Grand Tour, our goal is not only to help you experience Sicily's unique culinary & classical arts legacy but also to discover something new and inspiring that you can bring back home with you. As modern Viaggia Grand Tour mentors, Chef Alessandro and Tour Curator Polina will be sharing insights through recipes, historical context and curious encounters with local experts.

We believe that food is not just sustenance, but also a reflection of culture, history, and community. Influenced by various cultures throughout history, including the Greeks, Romans, Arabs, Normans, French, and Spanish, Sicilian cuisine is unlike anything else in Italy. From street food delicacies, to visiting farms, cooking with Chef Alessandro and dining in Michelin Star restaurants, our Grand Tour offers an unforgettable voyage through this vibrant land.

The itinerary will include stops in the Ancient Greek cities of Taormina & Siracusa, exploring the UNESCO Heritage Baroque towns of Noto, Scicli & Modica, climbing Mount Etna volcano, visiting Catania as well as a number of Sicilian villages, farms and places of interest on the way.

In addition to our signature Grand Tour on the pre-determined dates, we offer custom-made group tours! We can plan and organize a bespoke trip for you and your family, friends or co-workers on any available date we may have!

WHERE ARE WE GOING TO STAY?

You will be staying in a beautiful Sicilian villa in a central location during the whole trip, undertaking daily trips from there. You will unpack only once and you will be able to enjoy the benefits of the villa and surrounding area like a local.

Our villa comes equipped with air conditioning, a swimming pool, garden, common area space & modern security. All the rooms have an ensuite bathroom.
